Insurance

Residents are responsible for getting insurance for their belongings and any harm they might cause to others

Home Insurance

All tenants are legally responsible for their personal effects and for any damage or harm they unintentionally cause to others or their property. You are responsible for insuring your belongings and for having appropriate liability coverage, generally in one of the following two ways:

  • Arranging for coverage under your family’s insurance police
  • Taking out a tenant and liability insurance policy with the insurance company of your choice

See the InfoInsurance website to learn more about tenant insurance.

Information insurance companies ask for

Your insurance company will ask a set of questions to determine your premiums and coverage amounts.

Fire protection

All rooms in our residences are equipped with an electric smoke detector with a local tone alarm to warn the tenant.

The common areas (corridors, relaxation areas, kitchens, etc.) are all equipped with detection linked to an office opened 24/7 (call processing center of the Service de sécurité et de prevention de l’Université Laval).
