Reserving a Room: Interns
Applications for rooms in the Université Laval residences are accepted at any time throughout the year, whether you’re waiting for an offer of admission or already accepted into your program.
You qualify for a special intern rate if you
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Certify that you have no outstanding debts to Université Laval and its units or to the Residence Office
- Are under the supervision of a Université Laval professor
- Live in residence for more than a month (32 nights or more)
How to apply
- Read the Terms and Conditions (PDF) and Bylaws (PDF) of the Service des résidences.
- Submit your request using the electronic room rental request form for full-time students :
- Start an application by providing the required information;
- Submit your application online and validate the email address used by clicking on the link that will be sent to you by email. This step is essential for your application to be successfully submitted.
- Wait for a rental offer to be emailed to you.
- Although some offers are sent in advance, the majority of them are sent from April for arrival during the summer and fall session and from November for arrival during the winter session.
- If your application remains pending for a certain period, you will be invited by email to reconfirm your interest. This allows us to ensure that pending applications are still valid and to better inform individuals about their chances of obtaining a place in residence.
- You can contact us at any time at sres@sres.ulaval.ca to cancel your request.
- When you receive a rental offer from us, hurry to accept it via our electronic form within the indicated timeframe:
- Provide the additional information required to complete your application;
- Pay the deposit for the first month's rental.
By accepting a rental offer, you agree to sign a lease upon arrival and to abide by the terms, conditions and policies in effect.
To cancel your reservation, you must meet certain conditions, otherwise charges may apply.

Processing residence applications
Only complete applications and those with a validated email address are processed; incomplete applications and those with an unvalidated email address expire after a certain period and are automatically rejected.
Rental applications are processed according to availability. Availability is subject to change and is difficult to predict from one year to the next.
- If you are offered a room, you will receive an email inviting you to continue the reservation process. If you do not respect the deadline, your room will be offered to someone else.
- If no room is available at the time your application is processed, it will remain on hold until new availability becomes available.
- If your application remains pending for a certain period, you will be invited by email to reconfirm your interest. This allows us to ensure that pending applications are still valid and to better inform individuals about their chances of obtaining a place in residence.
Deposit
A deposit is required when you are offered a room. It is part of the reservation process and is essential to accept the offer.
If you are unable to pay your deposit via the rental offer acceptance form, please contact us promptly to discuss other payment options.
Application on hold
Once all our places are filled, only complete rental requests with a validated email address will remain pending processing.
If your application remains pending for a certain period, you may receive an email asking you to reconfirm your interest. This allows us to ensure that pending applications are still valid and to better inform individuals about their chances of securing a place in residence.
Le Service des résidences will contact you as soon as availability permits. At that point:
- a rental offer will be sent to you to the email address provided;
- you must respond promptly to our offer in order to accept it.
If an offer is made during the semester, the start date of your lease will be indicated directly in the offer sent to you.
