PREVENTION OF COVID-19 IN RESIDENCES

In order to ensure the safety of all, the Residence Service has implemented various measures recommended by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Public Health Department.

Special measures

  • Hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette are promoted to residents and staff. 

  • Infection prevention and control measures (cleaning, disinfection, etc.) have been enhanced: 

    • by providing residents and staff with the necessary equipment (running water, soap, hydroalcoholic solutions, non-contact garbage cans, etc.);

    • by installing handwashing stations at the entrance to the residences; 

    • providing daily general cleaning and more frequent disinfection (twice a day) of frequently touched objects and surfaces (door handles, faucets, light switches, handrails, etc.). 

  • Physical distancing measures are encouraged: 

    • by limiting the occupancy rate of the various sectors, floors and residential buildings; 

    • by giving limited access to visitors from outside the residence and to our hotel services;

    • by prohibiting student gatherings;  

    • by rearranging the various common areas such as the kitchens, dining rooms and study rooms; 

    • by offering most of our services remotely for the payment of rent, repair requests, etc.

  • A contingency plan for the management of possible or confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection has been put in place:  

    • by establishing a protocol for the isolation and individualized accompaniment of affected individuals.

Directives for residents

The cooperation of the people living in the residences is also required to ensure a safe environment for all. The following instructions must be respected at all times:

  • Wear the surgical mask everywhere and at all times inside the residence, except in the rooms. In common areas, the mask should be removed only before starting the meal and put back immediately after;
  • 1 visitor is allowed, i.e. a guest who is not a resident. Visitors must be accompanied at all times by the resident responsible for them and must comply to all the regulations;
  • No gatherings are allowed in the common rooms or kitchens; if there are several people in the common rooms or kitchens, they must observe sanitary measures and social distancing at all times;
  • No gatherings are permitted in the bedrooms;
  • No lack of civility or disrespect towards the employees of the Residence Service or the Security and Prevention Service will be tolerated; civility for all and towards all is required at all times.

Directives for hotel guests

The cooperation of the people living in the residences is also required to ensure a safe environment for all. The following instructions must be respected at all times:

  • Hotel guests cannot receive visitors in residence;
  • No gatherings are allowed in the common rooms or kitchens; if there are several people in the common rooms or kitchens, they must observe sanitary measures and social distancing at all times;
  • No gatherings are permitted in the bedrooms;
  • No lack of civility or disrespect towards the employees of the Residence Service or the Security and Prevention Service will be tolerated; civility for all and towards all is required at all times.

Before your arrival in residence

  • If you answer yes to one of the following questions, you cannot come to the residences.
    -Have you had symptoms of COVID-19 for the past two weeks? If so, which ones and when?
    -Have you had significant contact (more than 15 minutes to less than 2 meters) with people who have presented symptoms of COVID-19 in the past two weeks? If so, were you wearing a surgical or procedural mask? Were you wearing a face cover?
    -Have you traveled outside the country during the past two weeks?

During the stay

  • Quarantines cannot be done in residences;
  • A tourist who receives a positive diagnosis for Covid-19 during his stay in the residences cannot stay there. Nights not consumed due to cancellation are refundable;
  • If you are at our premises upon receiving a positive diagnosis, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can begin a safe departure procedure.
